A very comfortable and reasonably priced tented camp at Seronera, in the heart of the Serengeti National Park. Hidden in an enclave, surrounded by spectacular views and abundant wildlife, our special tented camp sits at the foot of the Banagi hills, overlooking a beautiful savannah resplendent with East African Thorn trees. Kananga Special Tented Camp has 28 tents available (6 of which are VIP) and there are 3 Mess Tents for relaxing and dining which means different groups can be hosted in each one separately.
HOW TO GET TO US:
Situated at the foot of the Banagi hills, we are easily reached by road or air. From the Seronera air strip, head in the direction of Lobo. Once past Seronera Lodge and over the bridge, you will come to a fork in the road (Ndabaka or Lobo). Take the Lobo road and continue straight for 5.8 kms, at which point, you turn left towards the camp. After 2.3 kms you will arrive at Kananga Special Tented Camp.

Child Policies
- Children 0-16 years old must share a tent with an adult.
- Children under 5 years old: free of charge (sharing bed with adult).
- Children 5-16 years: 50% discount on adult rate.
Family rooms are available upon request in the VIP camp, subject to availability. Maximum 4 guests (or 4 plus 1 infant) with at least one child of 5-16 years in the party. Online booking is not possible for Family Room so please contact us at [email protected] to request this type of room.
Payment Terms
A deposit of 50% of the total balance must be paid in order to secure the booking.
The remaining 50% should be paid 30 days before the arrival date.
Reservations made 30 days or less before arrival date should be paid in full at the time of booking.
Pricing Policy
Prices shown are inclusive of VAT (18%) and Catering Levy (1,50USD pppn) and are subject to change should the government increase taxes or introduce new taxes.
Tanzanian National Park (TANAPA) camping and entry fees are NOT included in our rates and will be charged by the Park Authorities upon entry at the gate (subject to change at short notice). These prices include 18% VAT which has been applied to TANAPA park fees since 01/07/16.

Meal Plan
Full Board: Includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, mineral water, tea and coffee.
VIP Full Board: Includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, mineral water, tea, coffee, wine, beer and sodas.
Game Drives
Daily private hire of 4x4 safari vehicles for game drives within the Serengeti National Park, including driver/guide and fuel is available under request for a daily rate of 250 USD per vehicle. Please note that we only offer pick up/drop offs at airstrip if this option is selected.
Cancellation Policy
- 31 days and over: no cancellation fee.
- From 30 to 15 days: 50% cancellation fee.
- From 14 days and no show: 100% cancellation fee.
